Startups

According to Investopedia, “A startup is a young company founded by one or more entrepreneurs to develop a unique product or service and bring it to market.” So, a brand new company that begins with a new idea, mission and goal in mind. These businesses are typically small and are initially funded by the founder(s), their friends and/or families.

Startups are designed to grow, and as they grow they may seek investors or VC’s to assist with that growth. A new company does not have to be technology related to be considered a startup, any new business falls into this category. Keeping accurate records, having a business plan and showing growth year over year will assist in getting the attention of investors and VCs.
